Fundraiser - Cinco de Mayo Luncheon and Raffle - Friday, May 4th, 2012
A Mexican cuisine lunch (prepared by El Cid's Restaurant) is served banquet style by La Sierra Guild members. Raffle tickets usually sell for $1.00 and entitle guests to take a chance on winning one or more of the many-many baskets that are filled with valuable prizes donated by local merchants and guild members. Fundraiser - Fall Raffle - Drawing - Wednesday, October 10th, 2012
In the Spring time, La Sierra Guild members begin selling $1.00 raffle tickets for enormous prizes donated by our very generous mountain community merchants. Prizes are printed on the tickets. Sales finalize just before the drawing which takes place at Children's Hospital. Winning tickets are drawn from a ticket tumbler by patients. Since the drawing is at Children's Hospital, attendance is limited to guild members and guild administration. Proceeds from the ticket sales are presented by a La Sierra Guild check endorsed to Children's Hospital. Please watch for ticket sales dates/locations in local newspapers and posted here as soon as possible.
Over the last 60 years the Guilds have become a vital part of Children’s Hospital. They are now the largest financial contributor to the hospital, having raised more than $20 million since 1949. It was through the fundraising efforts of the original Guild that Valley Children’s Hospital was constructed in Fresno on donated land.
All proceeds raised through the Guilds fundraisers and activities are used to support much needed equipment, projects and endowments, helping make Children’s Hospital a center for excellence in children’s health care.
The La Sierra Guild helps Children's Hospital in multiple ways each year. We are the outstretched hands of Children's when we solicit tax deductible donations from local merchants for La Sierra Guild's sponsored events. We are the voice of Children's Hospital when we tell of their services and campaign for new membership. We are the feet of Children's when we sell special edition newspapers in support of Kids Day. We are the spirit of Children's when we support the fundraising events of the other Guilds (more than 14) throughout the 10-county area Children’s Hospital serves. We are the hope for Children's when we provide lunch tray favors to brighten each little one's day.

The whole community gets involved in this fundraiser for Children's Hospital by participating in Kids Day. Here's where/when you can find La Sierra Guild members selling Kids Day Special Edition Fresno Bee newspapers for $1.00. Hwy. 41 and Road 417 in Coarsegold. Kids Day Chairman, Carol B., picks up the newspapers at 6:00 A.M., and the operation is in full swing by 6:30 A.M., sales finalize at our location at approximately 9:00 A.M.
