At the close of each monthly meeting, a blue pig with pockets is passed around the room. Anyone who has a shamless promotion, non-guild event announcements, bragging rights for family member achievements, etc., tucks into the piggy a dollar or more, that's up to the individual. The monies in the Blue Pig are used to support the La Sierra Guild's yearly donation - 150 tray favors - due to Children's Hospital the end of June and used for the patients as a special lunch treat in July. The tray favors are usually something the children can play with while being treated at the hospital. Some of the items furnished in past years have included stuffed animals, pencils, crayons, coloring books, whirly gigs, puzzles, and tote bags.
There are so many ways the guilds, individuals, and community organizations can give to Children's Hospital.

Monthly newsletters help to facilitate the sharing of information among our La Sierra Guild active and associate members. They contain announcements and current events of our guild, and provide a window to recently published articles from Children's Hospital. The newsletters are also a resource for finding fundraising activities sponsored by our guild, as well as all of the other Guilds supporting the hospital. Some of the unique information found in our newsletters can also be found on this webpage under the titles: Pink Pig, Blue Pig, and Other Ways to Give.
As La Sierra Guild members sign-in at monthly meetings, they donate $1.00 by placing it in one of the Pink Pig's pockets. All of the Pink Pig proceeds are donated to Children's Hospital in one lump check each year. Pink Pig donations are also contributed by all of the guilds that support the hospital. These monies are used for special departmental requests. Examples of fulfilled requests:
